Just improving article quality alone won't improve your rankings. There are many factors involved including domain age, domain rating, backlinking profile, privacy policy, about page, cookie messaging, etc. etc. And I second the comment below... editing the AI content and adding your own expertise is vital as well.

Mike Shuey Agree. Don't go by YouTubers experimenting on their sites for fun and using autoblogging software to sell their affiliate links. They are only doing much disservice and misinformation. Think of it this way. If you continue to flood the internet with robotic, repetitive content, how will Google stand out as a great search engine? Only with EEAT (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). So niche sites by owners who don't belong in that profession are already hit with the recent Google helpful content update. The point: Only use AI as an assistant for your passion projects and professions. If you want to take up any trending topic and create a niche site as a side hustle, you might not make big bucks.

This is true; however, Google is looking for content that addresses search intent, as well as contains original experience and/or expertise. AI content, will have to be revised to avoid being viewed as spam. Also, backlinks may be used to determine the content's value. Editing the AI generated content and adding uniqueness is going to continue to be necessary.
